Al-Najm 3 of 3
Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 He plunged the villages 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
