Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
