Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
