Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 Thamud, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
