HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
