Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
