So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
