Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
