Al-Najm 3 of 3
So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
