Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
