Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
