Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
