Al-Najm 3 of 3
Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
