So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
