Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 Thamud, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
