Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
