Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
