Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
