The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain. 1 And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." 2 And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. 3 Surely there came to them narratives (of the ancient nations) that should suffice to deter (them from transgression), 4 a Wisdom far-reaching; yet warnings do not avail. 5 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. 6 They will come out from the graves with eyes lowered, as if they were spread locusts. 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ There belied before them the people of Nuh. So they belied Our bondman and said: a madman; and moreover he was reproven. 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. 11 And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained. 12 We carried him, (Noah), on a vessel built with boards fixed together with nails, 13 and it floated under Our eyes: a recompense for him who had been rejected with ingratitude. 14 And We left it for a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 How terrible then was My punishment and My warning. 16 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 17 Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! 18 On an unfortunate day We sent upon them a continuous violent wind 19 Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted. 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 We have made the Qur'an easy to derive lessons from. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
