The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is split asunder! 1 (Regardless of any Signs these people see), they turn away and say: “This is an ongoing sorcery.” 2 They deny the truth and follow their own whims, every matter has its appointed time, 3 And there have come to them such tidings as contain a deterrent -- 4 narratives that are full of consummate wisdom. But warnings do not avail them. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 their eyes will be humbled as they come out from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, 7 Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." 8 ۞ The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away". 9 Therefore he called upon his Lord: I am overcome, come Thou then to help. 10 So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. 11 and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and all this water converged to fulfil that which had been decreed. 12 But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: 13 Which sailed right under Our eyes: A recompense for him who had been denied. 14 And assuredly We left it for a sign. Is there then anyone who would be admonished? 15 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 16 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 17 Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! 18 On an unfortunate day We sent upon them a continuous violent wind 19 Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted. 20 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 21 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 22
