The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is split asunder! 1 And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion. 2 And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 a Wisdom far-reaching; yet warnings do not avail. 5 So turn away from them, (O Prophet). On the Day when a caller shall call them to a thing most terrible, 6 With downcast eyes, they come forth from the graves as they were locusts spread abroad, 7 These disbelievers will say, "This is a hard day". 8 ۞ The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away". 9 Therefore he called upon his Lord: I am overcome, come Thou then to help. 10 We therefore opened the gates of heaven, with water flowing furiously. 11 And We made the earth break forth with springs; so that the water met for an affair already decreed. 12 And We bare him on a thing of planks and nails. 13 Sailing in front of Our sight; as a reward for the sake of one who was rejected. 14 And verily We left it as a token; but is there any that remembereth? 15 And how severe is the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded! 16 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 On an unfortunate day We sent upon them a continuous violent wind 19 Which snatched away men as though they were palm trees pulled out by the roots. 20 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 21 We have made it easy to learn lessons from the Quran: is there anyone who would receive admonition? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
