Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!" 25 (We told Salih), "Tomorrow they will know who is the most arrogant liar. 26 We are sending the she-camel to them to test them. So watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 But they called their commander, who seized and hamstrung her. 29 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us). 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 "Taste My punishment now that you have scorned My warnings!" 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance.
