The tribe of Thamud also rejected Our warnings: 23 So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress: 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar. 26 We shall send the she-camel as a trial for them; so watch their end with patience. 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns). 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warnings. 30 Surely We sent upon them a single cry, so they were like the dry fragments of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warnings. 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings. 36 And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. 37 And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran.
