Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent. 26 Behold, [O Salih] We are letting loose this she-camel as a test for them; and thou but watch them, and contain thyself in patience. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 And assuredly there met them early in the morning a torment settled. 38 So now taste My punishment and My commination! 39 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 40
