And certainly the warning came to Firon's people. 41 They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with the seizing of One mighty, omnipotent. 42 Are you disbelievers mightier than those of the nations which We destroyed before or have you received amnesty through the ancient Scriptures? 43 Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]"? 44 Soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall turn (their) backs. 45 Rather, the Hour is their encounter. And that Hour will be most calamitous and bitter. 46 for, behold, those who are lost in sin [will at that time come to know that it is they who] were sunk in error and folly! 47 On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the fire; taste the touch of hell. 48 We have created everything to fulfill a certain purpose. 49 And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye. 50 And assuredly We have destroyed your likes; so is there any one who shall be admonished? 51 [They were truly guilty] because all [the evil] that they ever did had been [revealed to them as such] in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom; 52 All things small or great have been written down. 53 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and rivers, 54 in a sure abode, in the presence of a King Omnipotent. 55
