The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
