The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
