The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
