The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
