The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
