The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created the human 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
