The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
