The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created the human 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
