The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He has created man: 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
