The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 has created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
