The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
