Lo! God said: "O Jesus! Verily, I shall cause thee to die, and shall exalt thee unto Me, and cleanse thee of [the presence of] those who are bent on denying the truth; and I shall place those who follow thee [far] above those who are bent on denying the truth, unto the Day of Resurrection. In the end, unto Me you all must return, and I shall judge between you with regard to all on which you were wont to differ. 55 I shall sternly punish the unbelievers in this life and in the life to come and no one will help them. 56 And as for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full. Allah loveth not wrong-doers. 57 This which we recite unto thee is of the signs and of the wise admonition. 58 To God the case of Jesus is as that of Adam whom He created from the earth and then said, "Exist," and Adam came into existence. 59 This is the truth from your Lord; be not, then, among those who doubt. 60 If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!" 61 Most surely this is the true explanation, and there is no god but Allah; and most surely Allah-- He is the Mighty, the Wise. 62 But if they turn away, then indeed - Allah is Knowing of the corrupters. 63
