The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and banana trees, 29 And spreading shade, 30 and flowing water 31 and fruits abounding 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 loving and of equal age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
