The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and extended shade, 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
