The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
