The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit abundant. 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And couches raised up. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 for those on the Right, 38
