The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and made them virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For those on the right. 38
