The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 on lavish couches 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and spreading shade 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
