The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and continuous shade, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For those on the right. 38
