The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 We have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
