The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 and a few from later times. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And spreading shade, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
