Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A (goodly) number from those of old, 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 Those on the Left: how unfortunate are those on the Left! 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 And in the shadow of a burning smoke. 43 Neither cool nor honorable. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 Say: "Indeed, the earlier and the later generations 49 Will be gathered together on a certain day which is predetermined. 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And [since] you are indeed aware of the [miracle of your] coming into being in the first instance - why, then, do you not bethink yourselves [of Us]? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Do you give it its increase, or are We the giver? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 Rather, we have been prevented' 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who have brought into being the tree that serves as its fuel - or are We the cause of its coming into being? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
