A crowd of earlier generations 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 41 They will be in the midst of scorching wind and boiling water, 42 And in the shadow of a burning smoke. 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 Surely they had lived before in luxury, 45 And were stubborn upon the great sin (of disbelief). 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 And so will our fathers?" 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 will indeed be gathered together at a fixed time on an appointed Day. 50 Then lo! ye, the erring, the deniers, 51 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 and will thereupon have to drink [many a draught] of burning despair 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Do you yourselves create it, or are We the Creators? 59 It is We Who have ordained death among you, and We have not been beaten – 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 "Verily, we are ruined! 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Have you considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Did you produce the tree that serves as fuel or do We? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74
