A large group from the earlier generations. 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 mid burning winds and boiling waters 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 45 and persisted in the great sin 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?” 48 Say: 'The ancients, and the later folk 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone 60 in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. 61 You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? 62 So what is your opinion regarding what you sow? 63 Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? 64 [For,] were it Our will, We could indeed turn it into chaff, and you would be left to wonder [and to lament,] 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 nay, we have been robbed!' 67 Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We? 69 If We so pleased, We certainly could make it salty. Why, then, are you not grateful? 70 Have you seen the fire which you kindle? 71 Did you make its timber to grow, or did We make it? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 74

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
