A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a (goodly) number from those of later times. 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 mid burning winds and boiling waters 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 And so will our fathers?" 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 “They will all be gathered together – on the appointed time of the known day.” 50 and then, verily, O you who have gone astray and called the truth a lie, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 and you will drink as the lapping of thirsty camels. 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 Do you yourselves create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We have destined death for you and no one can challenge Us 60 In order that We may bring in your place the likes of you and make you grow into what you know not. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Have you considered what you sow? 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 [For,] were it Our will, We could indeed turn it into chaff, and you would be left to wonder [and to lament,] 65 "Verily, we are ruined! 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 See ye the water which ye drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We will, We would make it bitter, why then do you not give thanks? 70 Behold! the fire which ye strike out: 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 74
